Weekly Photo Challenge: NOSTALGIA

Red StilettosOh, for the days when I could wear these!

Nothing like red shoes to lift feminine spirits! (And stiletto heels to rivet masculine eyes.)

But alas, now it’s flats and worse than flats. Now it’s New Balance sneakers and walking shoes, worn over an assortment of tape and moleskin and cotton wool, and the feet still hurt! At least if I’d been a ballerina, I could console myself with having earned the pain. But it’s just age and genetics ganging up on me. It’s a pity New Balance doesn’t make their sneakers and walking shoes in red!

Beautiful-yet-comfortable-and-supportive shoes; I sense a market opportunity. You can find such items, actually – you’ll just pay a pretty penny for them.

Back in the day I had a gorgeous pair of high-heeled red, snakeskin pumps (not proud they were actual snakeskin) that I could wear for hours…aaahh youth. Now, many moons later I too wear flats or walking shoes due to aging feet. Perfect entry for nostalgia, indeed!

Feels so good to have someone relate, even if the feet still don’t feel good!
Thanks so much for your comment — and I’ll bet those shoes were knock-outs!

Write to New Balance and send them this post!

      Hey, that’s a thought —
I’ll investigate their website. But I suspect shoe manufacturers aren’t strong on whimsy or sense of humor —

      • Pauline says:

Oh, I don’t know – some of the shoes featured in my favorite Footsmart catalog are quite whimsical. Unfortunately, I too am at the point of comfortable, not glamourous.

      • Touch2Touch says:

I was just casing online catalogs and am glad to know Footsmart is reliable.
However — try narrowing to women’s, narrow, removable insoles — ha ha ha (horse laugh?) is the usual result.
I think I would love whimsical if they ever offered it to me!

I would never have been able to wear them whatever age I was!

  5. I hear ya, but great shoes! I console myself with making fun of people that wear them (because I’m jealous!)

I love comments! Thanks for coming by and visiting ---
