Weekly Photo Challenge: COLOR!

My favorite photography subject of all has made it to this week’s Photo Challenge: COLOR!!!!!!!

Here’s what painter Marc Chagall had to say about color: “Color is all. When color is right, form is right. Color is everything, color is vibration like music; everything is vibration.”

That’s what I love, color so vivid that it vibrates like music. (And then it makes me vibrate as well.) Here are some thrilling primaries vibrating in the form of flowers at the recent Mount Holyoke spring bulb show:

Red tulips

Yellow Parrot Tulips

Rose colored "purse plant"

Not primary, but intense nevertheless, a vivid rose “purse plant” (aka Calceolaria)

Play slide at Look Park

Moving away from the natural world, man-made color can vibrate also. (Puzzled about what it is? Inside the slide at the playground at Look Park. Lucky kids!)

…and he was right. A little splash of colour can sometimes liven up any dull day. Yours are beautiful. I’m looking forward to see some colour here too — all is brownish grey now.

  6. Gasp! Is that…COLOR? Isn’t it amazing how color – especially this time of year – catches us just that way? Fabulous photos!

(P.S. Playground are not just for kids. Just last week I was sliding down slides and swinging on swings and squeezing myself through tunnels just like that…with my nephew of course. Do I really get a second childhood?)
