Weekly Photo Challenge: FORWARD (2)

Perhaps the first great documentary was a silent film of 1922 by Robert Flaherty called Nanook of the North.  It portrayed the life of an Inuit family, and starred Nanook himself.

Here, coming forward right at you, is a latter-day descendant of Nanook of the North. Less skillful perhaps, less graceful, definitely — but valiantly out there trying to make a go of it:

    This post reminded me of these lines from Tolkien’s Hobbit: “Go back?” he thought. “No good at all! Go sideways? Impossible! Go forward? Only thing to do! On we go!” So up he got, and trotted along with his little sword held in front of him and one hand feeling the wall, and his heart all of a patter and a pitter.”
