Weekly Photo Challenge: CHANGING SEASONS

Behind our house, Spring is caught in the act of happening!

Spring Happens

The sun is striking at a higher angle than in winter, the rhododendron are fresh and new, the first fragile yellow-green leaves sparkle in the sunlight, earth is fair and fine, and all is promise!

Ah, as we head into winter here, the temperature below freezing again last night, and snow in the forecast for Sunday — I’ll remind myself that whatever the season, smiling spring or austere winter, one thing is certain. Change will happen. The seasons roll around, and always always always — Spring happens.

I am looking at heavy frost this morning as Winter really gets a grip. Lovely to see some colour and sun!

  2. I was complaining about frigid 50’s and rain today. But one thing you all with frosts and snow receive which I never get….. the true enjoyment of spring. It is such a beautiful and rewarding season.

Spring is a beautiful season, Tara — in poetry especially. From England especially! Here in New England it manifests, for a good month or more, in rain and mud and chill. True! Cherish San Diego weather! This morning it was 18, count ’em, 18 degrees.

Wonderful picture; I can FEEL being surrounded by spring when I look at it. (Which is a difficult thing for a 2-dimensional image to invoke!)

You are right: change is constant, and spring always happens. Let me carry those thoughts with me through this long, cold winter…

  4. More and more I find that nature offers good solace for a great many things – not the least of which is change.
