Weekly Photo Challenge: REFLECTIONS

One of my very favorite photography subjects, the Alice Through the Looking Glass effect of reflections. Fascinating as philosophy, as puzzle, as visual, as design — In a way I think of them as ghosts, or something like memories — the mystery of them.

I’ve done a lot of them in different contexts. Here are three favorites. The first is softened by the water, which is as visible here as the trees:

At Look Park

But this shot, taken in our community, Β isn’t so clear about what we’re viewing, or from where:

Reflection, Meeting House

And finally, this one is an “abstract” reflection of a kind:

Fore Street Abstract

No, the wine isn’t bubbly, although it looks like it might be. It’s a first-rate Riesling I had at a first-rate restaurant, Fore Street, in Portland, Maine. And it’s the view I had just before I took another sip!

  2. Oh well done. One of the things I like about the camera is that it gives us permission to play!
