Travel Theme: FOLIAGE

Ailsa of Where’s My Backpack runs her own challenge themes, nice at any time but especially welcome when WordPress falls down on the job of providing its regular weekly challenge. This time she’s showcasing Foliage! As it happens, Foliage is one of my very favorite subjects. So many moods, so many shapes, so many textures, so many colors —

Just a few samples, then, first of leaves in silhouette:

Now framing Tucson mountains:

And leaves emergent in earliest springtime:

New leaves, old tree:

The framing around the mountains is fabulous. Love these. 🙂

Lovely foliage, lovely sunset sky too. I particularly like the new shoots just coming through 🙂

Lovely greens here. I may have a play with this meme next time!

Brilliant, all of them! The first two appeal to me because they show more by showing less – a hallmark of great abstraction. The third one is just … spring! And number four sets its own mood by contrasting the soft, colourful leaves with the solid grey trunks. All in all very appealing, Judith!

      Thank you, Tobias!
Ironic that we are now heading into the season when — after the brilliant display of a few weeks to come — all of the leaves will be disappearing! Oh, well, I’ll live through the winter on the promise (and these souvenirs) of renewed spring.

Leaves in silhouette are lovely, and the close up of tiny fresh life makes me smile almost involuntarily. 🙂

That first photo with the merest touches of green and yellow is fabulous. You are an artist in every sense of the word!

      Thank you, Pauline.
Your artistry is so magnificent in so many arenas — the garden, the camera, the pen, the fields (of poesie as well as flora), children and grownups and nature — I am honored by your friendship, O grandmother of many!
