None of those programmed machines for us free spirits —
We work out with free weights!
In sexy colors, yet!
excellent choice! free and sexy, yep.
Great and unexpected spin on this theme. Free weights do rule 😉
Yes, Tara! Let’s lift!
It’s funny – I saw your post after having been out with a friend looking for hand weights and singing the praises of them. I appreciate this post very much.
I missed today, but I’ll be down there with the gray metal jobbies tomorrow!
Nothing like pumping pretty iron :-).
You are so right!
IMO, free weights are good only when the lifter’s form is excellent. It’s too easy to be sloppy with free weights – in which case, machines really do serve a good purpose. (Just to be contrarian.) 😉
I don’t disagree. But I was “brought up” by a trainer who was an absolute terror on proper form!
So I may not lift as heavy as some, but the form is excellent! (Marina always said you don’t get the benefit without the form.)
Marina sounds like a wise and good trainer.
Indeed she was. I am grateful to her every time I pick up a weight.
We use free weights too! It allows a lot more flexibility as you’re not confined to the gym. I have a feeling I’ll probably gravitate towards the pretty pink ones 🙂
They’re so feminine!
But actually the reason I love free weights is because I feel so macho hoisting them around.
