Weekly Photo Challenge: FLEETING MOMENT

Two monsters came to scare us —

But they were only monsters for a fleeting moment — just as childhood itself only lasts a fleeting moment. Ask any parent —

(Addendum: Blogger friend Martin, of Thoughts from Finchley, sent along a quote that’s really appropriate for this photo. A band he likes, All About Eve, did a number called Flowers in Our Hair, which ends with these lines:

I wish we had the hearts of children

Their eyes are wide and their love is pure

But we only dare to say ‘please love me’

At the seventh glass of wine…

The monster kids have wide eyes — and pure hearts —)

Judith, I have memories of 24hours in the life of a small child seeming to last forever but 24 years flew by in a flash. So fleeting as you say and what sweet little monsters!

  5. excellent choice for this challenge, and so true that childhood is fleeting – especially when you are the parent.
