Weekly (Unofficial) Photo Challenge: SUMMER TRAVEL

Nothing I have ever seen in my life is so GREEN as rice fields in Japan in the summertime.  They are the essence of greenness, so much so that first they shocked my eyes, and then nourished them as green things are supposed to do.

This rice field is in Mie Prefecture, central Japan. (If you click on the photo and enlarge it, you’ll begin to get a little more of the real effect —)

And let’s hear it for Ailsa of Where’s my back pack for upping the ante with an alternative photo challenge!

Fantastic! I did blow it up to size, and I see what you’re talking about! Green really has that effect …. it’s wonderful! That must have been something to see in real life!

  3. Beautiful! I never would have known this is a rice field… I guess I had no idea what rice looked like when it was growing. Not only have you shown a lovely picture this morning, you have also educated me. Thanks, Judith, for starting my day out so well.

Like you, Tara, I had really no idea what a rice field would look like — anything I’d ever seen photographed seems to have been in black and white! So the green really blew me away.
Have a wonderful, green, alive day!

Very lush and vibrant. It actually resembles people’s lawns in Minnesota during spring, if you can believe it. (Seriously.)

I love comments! Thanks for coming by and visiting ---
