How’s this for today’s Blue Plate Special?
Home made lobster roll and stir-fried veggies, good enough to eat!
home made lobster roll. oh yeah!
I don’t know if I could eat it every night, but I’d sure like to try!
I hear ya.
Very, very nice shot … love that blue plate, and I could eat that lobster roll right now!
Ho ho, me too!
Researchers say the plate that helps you to eat the least amount is one that is blue. Apparently the color makes food look less appealing. I don’t know though – that meal looks mighty appetizing and I don’t even like lobster salad! (A steamed lobster with a side of melted butter – now that’s a different story!)
Now you might just like this lobster roll — all I do is chunk the steamed lobster in big pieces and add a smidge of mayo — brown the New England hot dog roll in some butter — that’s it. (Of course a steamed lobster all by itself, I don’t even need the melted butter — that’s heaven, ma’am.)
YUM!!! I’m so excited by your meal I can hardly type. The blue plate special; indeed!!! ! (uhm…sorry for all the exclamation points?) 🙂
Lobster rolls rate all those exclamation points, and more!
Wow. Yum and wow! I could stand some of that. That plate would make brussel sprouts look good. Not that there’s anything wrong with brussels sprouts 🙂
The only thing wrong with brussels sprouts is having to convince benighted dinner guests that brussels sprouts are actually delicious! 😉
I’m sorry. I just can’t go with you on this one. But enjoy. I’ll stick to asparagus. Still great plate 🙂
Hey, forget the brussels sprouts! We’ll go together for the asparagus. Tied in a dead heat with fresh corn for my absolutely most favorite vegetable.
Had it tonight — it’s grown around here in the Pioneer Valley, especially in Hadley (next town over), so common and so delicious that it’s nicknamed Hadley Grass!
Fresh corn? Ahhhhh! Love it. My husband makes fun of me because I eat one row at a time. I pick that baby clean! 🙂
ONE row at a time? Do you have little pearly baby teeth? Or very large kernel corn?
Oooooh, I’m hungry just thinking about this, and there’s weeks and weeks and weeks still to go before the first ears come in!
(They also grow TONS of corn in Hadley 😀
Ahhh, brussels sprouts, lightly steamed then halved and braised in a bit of butter and garlic! I have picked three meals worth of asparagus from my patch (augmented by roadside pickings as this is a slim year). Roasted the last batch with a little lemon/pepper seasoning – we need to have a meal together soon!
That is a lovely prospect, Pauline. With all the family fêtes for loved ones, we also need to fête ourselves!
Yum! That blue plate is awesome too, I have plate envy! xxx Ailsa
I like the plates a lot. But I LOVE the lobster.
LOVE the plate and the stir fry veggies! Definitely “good enough” to eat. 🙂
It never occurred to me to wonder why a Blue Plate special had that name —
but it sure worked out for the challenge!
That does not make me blue at all! Yummm – lobster!
Oh yes! Are you a lobster lover also????
