Weekly Photo Challenge, 2: DOWN

Often there’s reciprocity in photos of Down: for instance, staircases, however steep, go up as well as down. But not always —- here’s a view that is strictly Down!

In Tucson, looking out the upstairs bedroom window down onto the roofs of our rental Spanish condo village —

    I love it

I think a picture of gravity would make a cool “down”. I do love these terra cotta roofs.

You don’t mean falling off the pretty terra cotta roofs???????
      I think I missed something here — 😦

      • Stef says:

No, no, they were two separate thoughts! Yikes, my error completely.

        1) I think a picture that captured the essence of gravity would make a cool “down”. (Not falling, but the actual gravitational pull on the earth.)

        2) I love the way the terra cotta roofs look – just as they are. No falling at all.

        Make more sense? Sorry about the confusion! :~{

      • Touch2Touch says:

Not exactly confusion, Stef. More, what picture — or a picture of what? — would capture the essence of gravity? The falling to earth?
A video could, of course — but in a still photo? Hmmm. Makes me realize that to me the essence of gravity IS motion. My imagination fails before this challenge.

      • Stef says:

I think a few things could capture the essence of gravity. Certain catching an object mid-fall; but also the pull of the force of gravity – like a person leaning towards the ground, or even letting long hair fall to the side and snapping a pic of that…. and probably other things that I am just not too creative to bring to mind right now. 😉

      • Touch2Touch says:

I like the long hair a lot, Stef —

Nice post for this week’s challenge.

But now I keep hearing that song, looping over and over in my head – “Up on the Roof!”
