Weekly Photo Challenge: DOWN

Usually we see our rooms on the level —

But here’s a view of the dining room looking down:

and here looking down into the living room:

A little dizzy-making perhaps. But in either case we’re actually looking downward into memory, as this is the house we sold and left in March 2011 —

I like your interpretation of Down!

What a wonderful vista from that window!

  3. Stef says:

Wow, I love all of the natural light that flooded the place; beautiful! (That is the one complaint I have about our home; we don’t get much natural light…)

  4. Trust you to find an interpretation that includes beauty and nostalgia but not a hint of despair 🙂

  5. amira says:

    pretty home 🙂

  6. Berna Lee says:

I remember sitting at that table and the large Yellow Picture over by the fireplace.

In that way I am there still in memory.

    These places look very inviting.

“…wo Musik ist, lass dich ruhig nieder,
    bösen Menschen kennen keine Lieder”

is what they used to say in German: If there is music, you can join the party, becuse bad people don”t have song. looking at the first picture, I am, again, tempted to replace “Musik” by “Bücher” (books).

I like your “down” view. Have a good Sunday.

We used to be sure that our books reproduced in the night, like mice or rabbits — they were always overflowing every room. Now by heroic effort (and much use of the public library rather than purchase) we are keeping the book population more under control.
      Books — music — art —
All too good for the “bosen Menschen”!
      Guten Sonntag auf Dier!
(with hopes that the pronoun is correct but not too optimistic!)

  8. Patti Kuche says:

The light is so warm and inviting, not to mention the view!

  9. suitablefish says:

lovely. I’m especially fond of the red couches.

Interesting interpretation of this week’s challenge. 🙂

  11. A nice view of a room. A different perspective. Think we could all do with that sometimes!
