Weekly Photo Challenge: Windows, 5

Berkshire mountains ringing the idyllic *  little town of Williamstown, MA are doubled in the windows of the Stone Hill Center of the Clark Art Institute. The new center, high above the original white marble temple of the Clark’s first building, was designed by Japanese architect Tadao Ando, and was the first to be completed of his master plan for the entire Clark campus.

* Idyllic:  (esp. of a time or place) Like an idyll; extremely happy, peaceful, or picturesque: “an idyllic setting”.

If the definition fits, use it!

  1. I can only imagine how beautiful that view is in the middle of the changing seasons. Quite the “idyllic setting” indeed.

That’s right, you don’t have the change of seasons in San Diego.
      It’s ALWAYS gorgeous!!!!!
I know lots of people say, Ohhhh, I wouldn’t give up the change of seasons! And it’s true, autumn is beautiful, mostly.
But after our most recent October blizzard and power outrage (that’s how I always read it) — I think gorgeous all year round has its virtues!!!!!
      🙂

I think I like your photo 3 the most so far. I like the story about the miniature museum as well. I dropped the photo in Photoshop and uped the contrast and brightness to see if I could see the reflection more, but was unable to make out the detail. Thank you for making me curious. lol

    Just love those reflections!

What strikes me is how clean those windows must be to function almost like a mirror.

I never thought of that (you can imagine the state of my own windows) —
But it’s the Clark’s Stone Art Center, showpiece advance scout for their new campus by Tadao Ando, and I bet they keep those windows mirror-like! (The place is almost entirely windows, so it’s a job.)
