Weekly Photo Challenge: Opportunity

Who could pass up this opportunity?

Halloween is coming, and our Look Park is ready for it. There are howling wolves, and witches on their brooms, and black cats, and ghosts, and even a haunted train ride. I’ll be there!

  5. Look! It’s Look Park again! I have to check this place out next time I’m up that way. Seems like a great place to spend a day!

It’s a really civilized park, Jen. More like something in Europe than New England — at least it seems so to me.
Everything’s on a small scale, kid-sized, or for unathletic seniors. Walking paths, mini-miniature golf, bumper cars, pedal boats, a miniature railroad that takes a five-minute (or so) circuit —
In summer those attractions are on every day, along with a grill, a sweet shoppe (their spelling), and a delightful water park for little ones. Also a tiny zoo (free). In winter, the attractions are open only on weekends. There are picnic spots with grills also —
Admission to the park is $5.00 or $7.00 per car (depending on the day and what’s happening), and there are fees for the attractions. But for us who live practically around the corner, we get a season sticker for the car, and we’re too old for the attractions, so we just take walks (and photos) and enjoy. It’s a beautiful place, with lawns and fountains and old gorgeous trees.
If you come next summer, it’s maybe five minutes from the Williamsburg Snack Shack — hey, Northampton is a really vibrant place πŸ˜‰
(Lots of bikers also, and it’s dog-friendly.)

In Ireland we say:, “We don’t believe in ghosts, but they’re there”

In any case, we can’t see them any more since the dawn of electricity.

We can’t see the stars any more either because of all the street lights, but they’re there too.

    Happy Halloween!
    Love, Berna
