Weekly Photo Challenge: Possibilities, 2

To me this window tells a story, makes a promise, offers an illusion —

If you come and buy these fine white garments, you will be ready to take off somewhere, flying high, to visit a tropical island where birds of paradise abound, and life will be new and different and delightful —

Or else they’re just selling some white cotton clothes. Even Freud admitted that sometimes a cigar is only a cigar —

I think they are just selling some white clothes with the very high possibility that those same clothes will spend a lot of their time in the wash…

  2. Or possibly like the feathers are transforming in color, so is the possibility that we too can make a change? Intriguing photo and words. : )

I didn’t think too much about where the impressions for the “story” were coming from —
      white, feathers, birds —
but you’re quite right, the feathers ARE transforming and that’s a subliminal trigger. Shrewd observation, thank you!

  3. i just loved the splash of turquoise…nice capture..

  4. I think the white clothing will offer great games for the winter snow soon on its way. Hide and seek always offers more of a challenge in the snow when the hider is dressed in such fine whites.

I enjoyed IsobelandCat’s comment about the time they will spend in the wash. Very good point! That is one of the many reasons I stay away from white pants.

I got a good chuckle out of her comment too. I have a pair of white jeans — not once did I put them on all summer! But I didn’t think of practicalities like that when I was taking the photo.

I also got a chuckle from your idea of winter white camouflage, yeah, it would be challenging all right to spot the wearer in the concealing snow. Until they froze, and then you could spot them by their blue lips. 😉

  5. Love the turquoise! I was about to say it made the photo feel very southwestern, and then I saw the tag: Arizona. Makes me ready for vacation!
