Weekly Photo Challenge: Comfort, 4

Chocolate is an all-purpose comfort food. Lobster may be more specialized — there are some benighted folk who don’t like it, and some unfortunate folk who are allergic to it. Me, I adore it. When the prices for the little ‘uns dip low enough at the supermarket, I’ll have them steam two, and hurry them home, and gladly go through all the mess and labor so that Frank and I can each have our own lobster roll, no filler, just chunks of sweet lobster kissed by mayonnaise, on a top-sliced buttered and toasted New England bun.

It might have been a brave soul who ate the first lobster, but it’s happy souls who feast upon them. Comfort indeed!

Keep the chocolate — I’ll take the lobster. But where in Great Barrington do you find them, let alone have them freshly steamed? Barbara

The Pittsfield Route 7 Stop & Shop, ditto Price Chopper; now S & S in Northampton —
But only when the price is right!
Call ahead, or order when you get there, it takes 15 – 20 minutes.

I hear lobster kissed with mayo is the only ‘proper’ way to have a lobster roll. I wouldn’t know. 😉

Your plate does look beautiful though; I’ll happily have the serving of veggies! They look delish!

      They were, they were!
But autumn is deepening, and local summer squash are waning, and tonight it was roasted butternut squash and an omelet. Reasonably comforting. 😉

Next summer, you must come visit for lobster rolls by the river! Fresh lobster, grilled rolls with butter – scrumptious!

I love comments! Thanks for coming by and visiting ---
