      Thanks, Julia — It was a natural, the house was in the way!! ;-), the traditional wooden Japanese house in which we’d spent the day with the shutters closed as tight as possible, playing games and hoping for the best — which was what happened, that is, Nothing!

      Thanks for your visit and comment.
      It was a long time ago, and — fortunately!— nothing happened during that typhoon where we were, or very much anywhere else, it was a “normal” typhoon.
      There was a wonderfully twisted pine tree in the Japanese garden that I fell in love with, though, and my friend told me that a few years later, during another, stronger, typhoon, among other damage, the pine had come down.
      What with earthquakes and typhoons and tsunamis, Japan is kind of a scary country — but I loved it the two times I was there.

  4. A human painter could not have painted a picture as wonderful as this. I love sunrises and sunsets. The beauty they can capture is always awing. And the house that was in your way…. beautiful, too! 🙂
