Weekly Photo Challenge: Morning

Good morning, breakfast eggs!

Nothing like years of shared friendship, smorrebrod, snaps, and memories — and these egg cozies, gift of a Danish-American friend and her Yankee husband — to add a very special savor to our morning eggs!

An egg cozy… I have never even heard of such a thing! I have only seen eggs eaten out of little cups like those once in my entire life – when I was a visitor in Germany. Wow. Memories…

We have very close friends in Germany (who are coming to visit in September, actually) and have been there a lot. Always to use Evamaria’s hand-crotcheted angora egg cozies! And yes, always eggs eaten out of little egg cups, of which I have a tiny collection. Doesn’t seem to be an American thing, more’s the pity. It makes breakfast lots of fun —
Scandinavians are also big on boiled eggs, egg cups, and cozies—

I love boiled eggs for breakfast – with ‘soldiers’ of course – (toast cut into strips so you can dip in your egg!)
    Love the egg cozies!

Yes, an English thing — I always forget, but love to eat them dipped in egg —
      Maybe tomorrow morning —

I have never heard the term “soldiers” in reference to toast strips before – but it makes total sense. And imagining little ‘soldiers’ bravely marching into a goopy egg mess completely made me smile. 🙂

  3. I’ve never heard of egg cozy’s either. These are so cute!

How much fun are those? Enjoy breakfast!
