Weekly Photo Challenge: WATER

Sailing into New York harbor at 6 am, standing on the deck of the Ile de France, and who even remembers that ship any more? It was so long ago that everyone who went to Europe still went by ship, only really rich people and adventurers took a plane. The skyline reflected in the dark water, the motion of the ship, the arrival Back Home after six weeks aboad and my first job waiting for me —

it’s all here, and it still gives me the shivers.

  1. Pauline says:

The reflections of the lights look more real than the lights themselves. (Which, I suppose, is a comment on our stories as well…)

  2. Stef says:

An amazing photograph, made even more wonderful and thrilling by the story that accompanies it.

  3. Christine says:

Intense sky colors – saturated! What a view!
