So little rain this winter in Tucson, Arizona, that the annual spring blooming is little and late. Here, at last, comes a prickly pear cactus flower:

  1. Beautiful greens/yellows. i was in Nevada and didn’t see this prickly pear blossom–they were pink.

      Here in Tucson they come in yellow, orange, and a deep pink-rose — and always beautiful, even though they last for only a short time.

        Ah yes – isn’t so much of the wonder, beauty, and wisdom of life “hidden” in the subtleties? If only we take the time to slow down, and see it…

        Funny about the desert — the people who love it, and the people who dismiss it as “boring” and “no color, just brown.”
        Maybe the difference lies in their attitudes toward time — and subtlety —
