Photo Challenge: Old — and Older!

Photographer Martin Greene weighs in with an entry in the OLD sweepstakes! Here is his photo taken at the Musée National de la Prehistoire, Les Eyzies-de-Tayac, France, of horses graved into cave walls circa 36,000 – 20,000 B.C.

Whatever else might differ about these artists of ancient times in the Dordogne, how they felt about horses — and about art and the impulse for making it — leaps the millennia to make us kin.

    One of the great paradoxes of mankind… everything changes and nothing does.

  2. This is a wonderful museum filled with many fantastic pieces discovered in the caves of of southwestern France, like Lascaux, almost too beautiful to believe that these fine artists lived so very long ago.
